Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG Wine

Taste guide

Garnet red in color with orange highlights, this wine is distinguished by a rich and complex olfactory profile. The nose reveals intense aromas of blackberry jam, dried plums, sweet spices, with elegant menthol nuances, notes of black truffle and toasted hints. The palate is austere yet velvety, enveloping and with a long, lingering finish, perfect for those who like structured and refined red wines.

The sommelier's advice

Perfect paired with succulent dishes, fatty meats and braised meats, this wine best expresses its qualities with rich and structured preparations. The ideal serving temperature is 20°C, to bring out all the aromatic complexity and depth of flavor.

Recipe and processing

Made from pure Sagrantino grapes, this wine comes from vinification in steel with selected yeasts, followed by alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, also in steel, to preserve aromatic integrity and precision. Aging takes place in barrique for 18 months, followed by 5 years of bottle aging, to offer a wine with a deep, evolved and extraordinarily long-lived character.
